Well, 2007 is coming to a close

Soon we will be celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and then look forward to another year where we can live out our purpose and God’s will to colonise earth with his Kingdom and its principles through us, building a kingdom culture and community here on earth – “your kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”.

Well this year has been somethin’. Wynand finished Uni and has a few jobs lined up, Christiaan and Cathy celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary and Chris and Jeanette are still doing well.

WOW, and news from the extended family is that cousin Maryka is no longer a van Niekerk but has changed here last name the union in Marriage to a certain guy called Natie; well that just leaves 5 of us 20 cousins yet to tie the knot on the van Niekerk side. Times have moved on.

Of course we have had many laughs and good times together with the sad, with our friends here in the land East of South Africa, North of Antarctica, West of South America and South of Asia. (Interestingly in the spring of 2007 the Arctic was about 30% of what it was in the spring of 1970 – something to think about).

We have many stories to tell about our sailing adventures and explorations of rivers and canals in the midst of thunderous storms and rain which will not be told in this letter, but stay tuned for future updates.

We are off to Port Macquarie this Saturday morning (22/12/2007) at 4am for 1 week with 5 other family’s, so look out for more interesting and adventurous photos of this holiday. Then it is off to Barrington Tops in the Hunter valley for New Years.

Lastly we would like to say Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all our family and friends. We miss and love you guys in South Africa, but hope to see you soon.

Chow for now, mooi bly, groete, sala kahle, see you next year
